@LuFins-Dad said in AppleTV: Watching the first episode of “For All Mankind” right now. Does the show get better? Yes it does. A lot better. Once you accept the alternate history timeline, there's a lot of fun stuff that makes it a fun watch. It has the obligate "woke-y" stuff, because it's Apple TV. Yeah, drug use, gay stuff, etc. At times it gets soapy too. This isn't history, so don't try to take it as such. It's science fiction, and as it progresses, it gets more sci-fi. The Corvette stuff is based on history, by the way.

Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) in the House and excoriating Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.).

@Horace said in Trans Women are men? Ask the cops: Yeah but what about all those cops going door to door enforcing right wing culture war talking points. Both sides are same. It's worth pointing out that the Conservatives have been in government in Britain since 2010. Just saying. Of course, maybe they're not to blame or responsible for this, assuming what is being reported is accurate. Maybe they're just fucking incompetent.

I know someone who is doing work at USC on "coding" the brain so that blind people can "see". From my understand, bypassing the optic nerve and sending an equivalent signal to the appropriate part of the brain to simulate vision.

@George-K said in The history of "Palestine" - prove me wrong: Cliff's Notes version, please. Once upon a time Early History of Jerusalem Scholars believe the first human settlements in Jerusalem took place during the Early Bronze Age—somewhere around 3500 B.C. In 1000 B.C., King David conquered Jerusalem and made it the capital of the Jewish kingdom. His son, Solomon, built the first holy Temple about 40 years later. The Babylonians occupied Jerusalem in 586 B.C., destroyed the Temple, and sent the Jews into exile. About 50 years after that, the Persian King Cyrus allowed Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. And so on https://www.history.com/topics/ancient-middle-east/history-of-jerusalem

They do. They do try to limit his snaps a bit. Taysom is much faster than you think he is. Olave and Shaheed run 4.3 forties. Taysom runs a 4.4...And he weighs 35 pounds more...He also squats more weight than any other player on the team...So he runs hard. That leads to concussions. Taysom has had a few.

I’ve stuck with the main storyline books and plan on going back to pickup on the other branches. There seems to be some confusion about whether there are a few more manuscripts that have been turned in or not. I believe most of the regular authors have basically cut ties, but some of the amateurs are still publishing online in the Grantville Gazette format.
