Wanna hear something bizarre? Pittsburgh’s still in the playoff race… Actually fairly well positioned. We have two against the Ratbirds and their backup QB, we have a game against the Panthers (not a great team), the Raiders (5-8), and the Browns (who are likely a worse team with Watson). That’s a winnable schedule. Our running game is finally producing, our O-Line has gelled, our QB is looking like a mid-tier (which I will take for a rookie), and Watt is back.

@Rainman said in Halleluiah!: I wonder how a person becomes a professor (obtains the rank of) at a community college, Did You Know? Doctor Jill Biden is a professor at Northern Virginia Community College. End of discussion.

One of the things that popped out in the first one, was when Moran said a U.S. heavy armor division could go through the Russians in Ukraine in two to two and a half weeks. Now, he's biased, but he is a light bird with time in the sandbox.

Her tag and photo “Ruth Less” had me go look up her account. She’s an interesting contradiction…

@George-K Not a bad overview of the events for a 20 minute presentation. It does however fail to convey how Chechens and the breakaway Chechen republic were viewed by not only Russians but the West as well. In short, the Chechens were thought of as lawless Islamic fanatics bent on establishing an Islamic republic throughout the northern Caucasus. Think Taliban and ISIS. There was really little or no sympathy for their cause outside the Muslim world. It is disingenuous then for the amateur historian to say that the US cynically sent aid to Georgia and nothing to Chechnya. Of course it didn’t, Chechens were supporting the Islamic-Fascist cause led by Bin Laden. I recall a PBS Frontline doc from around 2005 that explored the Chechen War and how Russia had turned the place into a parking lot. It was even shocking for Chechen “haters” like me, to learn of what had occurred there. I wonder if it is still available in the archives? It is worth watching.
