Interesting article. If I understand it correctly, I agree with him.

@Doctor-Phibes said in "Half a pound of salami, please.": @Aqua-Letifer said in "Half a pound of salami, please.": British English is primarily non-rhotic. A Scotsman would not agree. Neither would people from the South West of England - Cornwall, Somerset etc or for that matter Liverpool. Primarily. So, they'd be wrong.

What. The. Hell... Great story. A real slow burn to the finale which was amazing. Chilling as can be. Had a real "Salem's Lot" vibe to it.

@Renauda said in You know, I heard the clip where Trump made the statement...: Although there would some irony if he were struck by lightening and killed while on the golf course in the sand trap at the 13th hole. That comb-over is light enough. I'd rather see him in a crew cut.

@Jolly People who would do so in their homes with visitors would be thought to be snobs or eccentric. I consider it an honour to be regarded of as either a snob or an eccentric, albeit a mildly sneering one.

We hear coyotes all the time where we are - our next door neighbour is a historic graveyard, which makes it sound pretty spooky. We certainly can't leave the Jack Russell out on his own. A woman up the road lost one of her dogs to coyotes last spring.

On the other hand, the distinction means something different now. A TIME Person of the Year used to be the single largest force of societal influence in one year, and reading the accompanying feature would enlighten you as to why in their estimation. They're at a quarter of their circulation in the 90s and most of the hangers-on are dentist's offices. TIME's Person of the Year now means something like, "oh they're still doing those? Who'd they say this year? Ah ok."

It happens EVERY. TIME. I was tired of us being the only people who knew about it. So, okay, they know now, too. Tried a reset. Works for half a day, then back to Hubbington's.

He's got a point. It's hard to believe there's still talk of the disastrous Newsom.

I think they are still working out the details. I haven't followed it very closely. I think part of the hangup is that the LIV guys, on average, make more money and work less. And some PGA guys are unhappy with being associated with the Saudis, at least they act like they care about that.

When I went into private practice, we had our monthly meetings at the local golf club. The senior member of our group was a member of the club. Nice deal for this guy. meet the monthly minimum spend have the practice pay for the meals - business, you know. I was sooo naive. ETA: This is not the club I was referring to in the original post.
