https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/02/viral-news-story-of-botnet-with-3-million-toothbrushes-was-too-good-to-be-true/ Alas, fiction is sometimes stranger than truth. There weren't really 3 million Internet-connected toothbrushes accessing the website of a Swiss company in a DDoS attack that did millions of dollars of damage. The toothbrush botnet was just a hypothetical example that some journalists wrongly interpreted as having actually happened. It apparently started with a January 30 story by the Swiss German-language daily newspaper Aargauer Zeitung. Tom's Hardware helped spread the tale in English on Tuesday this week in an article titled, "Three million malware-infected smart toothbrushes used in Swiss DDoS attacks." "Journalists," LOL.

My guess is they substituted Taylor's jet engines with Al Davis's casket, since he must be spinning so much in that grave that he could have powered 100 Transcontinental flights... https://twitter.com/LasVegasLocally/status/1754338257670992165 For those that don't know, Al Davis (former owner of the Raiders, whose Stadium is hosting the game) HATED the Chiefs.

@Jolly said in Things We Can No Longer Afford: @LuFins-Dad said in Things We Can No Longer Afford: Do away with spend it or lose it budgeting. Find ways to reward programs that come in under budget. What type of carrot would you dangle? New Title in lieu of a raise.

I predict that I will not watch it but will feign interest on Monday at work during the lunchtime walk while silently screaming inside.

Also...I've never played on the new turf with the ground-up tire rubber in it. I do understand it can be tough on the eyes. I have played on the old turf, years ago. Like getting tackled on linoleum...

@Renauda Yes. Unlike those of us who have been raised in that environment, it is not the innate desire or ability we seem to think it is. Post-Soviet Russia is a classic example.
