@xenon said in Nadler gives idiots a bad name...:
Even in the early days of the pandemic, it all felt very performative.
There was plenty of that bullshit in Trumpland, too.
Outside of masks, there were a lot of things we could have done at the personal level to keep others from getting infected. We could have decided to stay the hell home sometimes. We could have tried to keep our distance when talking to our neighbors. We could have actually had consideration for the health of ourselves and others and just tried to make it work. I don't even care if they worked or not, I appreciated when people wore masks when their intent was to be considerate.
Plenty of folks on the left didn't want to be considerate. They wore masks in a halfass virtue-signaling manner when they weren't taking yet another selfie to show everyone else how good they were being. They then used that and a smattering of the right kind of hashtags to shame others on Instagram, it had nothing to do with consideration.
Same goes for the red-blooded motherfuckers who would rather exercise THAR FERDOMS!!! than maybe not kill grandpa. Instead of staying home, they bought fucking T-shirts signaling their own anti-masker virtues that they'd wear to as big a public gathering as they could find.
The science bullshit is whatever. Either way, we failed pretty hard having our priorities in order.
