It felt to me like none of the States thought that Op Warp Speed was going to produce the vaccine that fast. So they had not put much effort into how to get it to people.

All summer they should have been getting ready to have everyone that can wield a syringe ready, including military doctors (and dentists), civilian dentists, and veterinarians.

I hear the State's whining that they need more money, but at least locally I still see them using the same old budget priorities rather than shifting money around.

I think it is ridiculous that the left thinks we should have deputized some huge new Federal bureaucracy to implement this.

If I recall, Bush gave a deadline and just a few hours after that passed we were in. I don't recall having much concern about the fight but do think I remember thinking we might have a much higher death toll.

Meh ... pales in comparison to “character matters” before and after the Conservatives/Republicans know the character of their 2016 nominee. Ditto “deficit spending” and “executive overreach” and “double taxation” before and after they learnt who proposed those things, and “no filling a Supreme Court vacancy” before and after they know who gets to nominate the new justice.

LOL, there’s a helluva lot more than just 4-sides here. You have a fringe on each side willing to be violent, you have a fringe on each side willing to be cooperative, and then you have a much bigger middle on each side not willing to be violent, but also not willing to compromise. And both of those big middles are shifting towards the more dangerous extremes.

Follow the UK’s lead and release the Astra Zeneca vaccine and you really help solve the problem. Imagine where all our vaccines on hand were already distributed you are still a country mile from herd immunity and opening up the economy.

Also, I know a heck of a lot more people my age than old functioning people who have the vaccine.
