Progressive white women would be pretty angry that a four year investment into a compromise of an old white man didn’t afford them the opportunity to run a person of color, preferably of uncertain sexual orientation and identity, with 100% reliable leftist views on everything. If there’s one thing progressive white women will not compromise on, it’s the certainty that their elected politicians will cater to their mindless emotional whims.

it's these sorts of anti-vax conspiracy theory threads that drive off good, socially conscientious posters.

    @george-k said in Myocarditis?:

And, in a related story, at least one country has recommended NOT giving the Moderna vaccine to adolescents because of the risk of myocarditis.

    CDC:

Is it safe to vaccinate adolescents with the COVID-19 vaccine?

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.

COVID-19 vaccines have been used under the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history, which includes studies in adolescents.

Sweden and Norway - no Moderna under 30
Denmark - no Moderna under 18

    Those must be Trump countries

My best friend did that. We were on a motorcycle outside a candy store and were accosted by locals we knew. The guy took a swing and Bo just walloped him with the helmet, which immediately reshaped his attitude.

Bo was one of the most intelligent people I ever met, but suffered from a bad upbringing that he never rose above. he was also the most violent person I ever knew.

From what I have read, I would guess that she has a mental problem and is not really burning the church because it is a church.

People change and have different views with hindsight. If you agree with their current view, then it was a valid change. If you dont agree, when it was just for 1)money 2)publicity 3)both

    For example
1987 - President Trump registers as Republic
1999 - registers as Indenpence Party of NY
    2001 - registers as Democratic
    2009 - registers as Republic
    2011 - registers as Independent
    2013 - registers as Republic

  • I'm just wearing it because I've got a Republican tracker here

There is some interesting things going on in crop science. Not only stuff like posted above, but just imporvements in seed technology, etc.

When I was in the States recently, I was talking with a farmer from NW IL. He said that even though they were in drought conditions for most of the growing seasons, the yields on his corn and soybeans was going to be "okay". Not great, but he was quite happy considering the weather all season.

Humorous as our subject may be, one place I think the Greens in this country could really do better, is to advocate for less plastic containers and a return to deposit glass containers.

Return to deposit? I’d be happy if they just didn’t charge me a fee to turn in lightbulbs and electronics for recycling?

I think it is places in Japan, where the numbers on the house are when it was built, so the numbers are not necessarily in order as you go up or down the street. 555

So what's the point of all the US flags flying on people's lawns? They achieve nothing. We all know we're in America, there's no point telling everybody.

How about the yellow ribbons for POW's? Again, no point to them. If you care, you need to get yourself out there in a Rambo costume and start rescuing people languishing in foreign camps.

    I could go on.....

If you actually believe we fly the US flag to let people know where they are, it explains a lot...

I think you may have missed my point.

    https://www.npr.org/2021/10/06/1043484190/supreme-court-considers-whether-cias-black-sites-are-state-secrets

Case goes to the Supreme Court. The US government (this transcends Trump and Biden) wants to keep the torture programs secret. Plaintiff argues that torture should not be allowed to be kept secret.

Personally I say torture is illegal and immoral so let sunlight disinfect the whole sordid affair and deter others in the future.

… "There needs to be an accounting. Torture must be known. You cannot allow torture to be done in secret and kept in secret. That's fundamentally what this case is about."
    .
Specifically, the question before the court is whether the so-called state secrets privilege protects the information in this case. The privilege, adopted by the high court in 1953, allows the government to seek to block evidence for a trial in the interest of national security. …

But you believe it's ok to rip an infant's head off and then crush up the rest of its body and suck it out through a vacuum tube....

I guess it's not torture if you couldn't hear it screaming....

Nothing pisses me of more than to have a democrat talk about what is and what is not moral when they kill babies.

Sen. McConnell and the Senate GOP "got out of the way" just enough for the Senate Democrats to kick the can down the calendar for another two months. Enjoy the intermission. The show will resume in December.
