STFU and do your job.

I understand frustrations. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Did a career at a hospital that was chronically underfunded, understaffed and over-utilized. You do the job because you make a difference... But Jesus Christ on a hobby-horse, lady, if the reason you are in healthcare is because you want to get your satisfaction rocks off by treating the people you want to treat, quit. Go sell real estate or used cars.
Yes, you can bark back at crappy families. Yes, you enforce the rules and ethics of your institution. But at the end of the day, you treat patients. You treat them regardless of your personal beliefs. If they've been on a week-long bender, pissed all over themselves and threw up on your shoes, and it's your job to get them cleaned up and an IV started, do your job.
Healthcare is not a vocation, It's a calling. So do the best you can, as long as you can. And when you're unable to do any more, walk away for as long as you need.
Rant over.
