What do you call somebody who is surrounded by crooks, but is himself the most honest man you've ever met, just so, so honest, just amazingly honest?

Serious question. Is Trump going to end up with a relatively low number of pardons compared to other presidents?

I have no idea. It's only the controversial ones that ever get reported.

          You were warned.

Possibly. Trump apparently feels slighted by the entire nation. After all, it's everybody else's fault things got out of control. If everyone had just listened and followed his path.

              Elbows up!

CNN: Trump's sordid pardons cement his corrupt legacy

"The Founding Fathers would have been disgusted by President Donald Trump's serial abuse of the pardon power. Nearly 90% of his pardons to date have gone to friends or politically connected allies -- including corrupt politicians. While the President's pardon power may seem unconstrained by the Constitution, a closer look shows that Trump is violating every principle the framers of the Constitution assumed would be followed by a principled President -- and there's evidence they intended special constraints on a President's pardon power after they'd been impeached."

Though this initial paragraph addresses the head, the rest of the article discusses the interesting debate amongst the Framers on Presidential pardons.

I.e., George Mason argued that the President "ought not to have the power of pardoning, because he may frequently pardon crimes which were advised by himself... If he has the power of granting pardons before indictment, or conviction, may he not stop inquiry and prevent detection?" Mason warned that this could "destroy the republic."

Lots of destruction of the republic going around. There will never be any end to drama queens masturbating and cumming over the corpses of their fallen political opponents.

I didn't post Mason's argument to support any position of mine, but because I thought it was interesting in its own right.

I don't know enough about the prez pardon to have a position.

I’d like to see specifics on where Trump has departed on what type of person got pardoned historically and the relative size of their transgressions.
