I've only seen one...Not much instrument-wise, but somewhat interesting pieces of history. Probably somewhat better than some of these from Occupied Japan: [image: 1697996033814-img-4762.jpg] [image: 1697996033863-img-4761.jpg] (not my photo, was just posted recently on a piano tech forum)

@LuFins-Dad yup - we've considered it. A nice one would be to take The Empire Builder to St. Paul for an overnight. Then cruise down the Mississippi to New Orleans, and catch CONO back home. But...that gets REAL pricey real fast. [image: 1697991326031-screenshot-2023-10-22-at-11.14.13-am-resized.png] [image: 1697991329952-screenshot-2023-10-22-at-11.15.03-am.png] American Cruise Lines is a bit cheaper: [image: 1697991450122-screenshot-2023-10-22-at-11.17.18-am.png] With Mrs. George's arthritis being so problematic (she's looking at getting her other hip done, and her spine is no-fucking-good), walking tours, etc are out of the question for her. I think she'd be pissed if I left her on the boat so I could wander around.

@Jolly Catholicism also believes, or at least, recognizes, Jews as God’s chosen. I understand that Anglicanism, Lutheranism and the Calvinist churches also recognize Jews as such. Evangelicals however appear to be the only Christian ecclesial community that holds to the notion that Christ cannot return, the Last Days cannot begin unless Jews restore the Jewish state of Israel. But you know this very well as I’m sure you have more than passing familiarity with the writings of the Evangelical theologian, John Walvoord, and his book Israel in Prophecy that explicitly lays out the Evangelicals’ position regarding Zionism, the state of Israel and the timetable for the final persecution of the Jews.

Man that looks even older than 1979. Brings back childhood memories. Kind of funny to call a group ‘primitive savages’ and ‘racist’ in the same sentence.

@George-K said in No Flat Faces: Our first dog, Oscar, was a pug. We got him in, I think, 1982. Good dog, overall, despite having "flat face" problems. His upper eyelids were displaced so that his lashes were rubbing against his corneas - he needed an upper blepharoplasty to fix that. However, he never had the associated respiratory problems that one sees with the breed these days. I couldn't find a good picture of him in profile, but this will give you a sense of his physiognomy. [image: 1697981427514-00334_p_15amermntq0333.jpg] [image: 1697981427558-p_v18amermzkk0324.jpg] [image: 1697981427595-p_v18amermzkk0306.jpg] The current crop of pugs is a sad caricature of what Oscar was. Pathetic, sad, and just wrong. As, I believe, @LuFins-Dad said, German Shepherds have been ruined here in the states. Get a mutt. They live longer, and have better temperaments. German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers (as well as a number of other breeds).

@LuFins-Dad said in Finley keeps popping up in my life…: @Mik said in Finley keeps popping up in my life…: I call bullshit. No toddler ever said they needed a bath. If you saw the toy layout his mom has laid out for his bath, you would understand. My "bath toys" as a kid were the shampoo and conditioner bottles. If one floated, it was a ship. If it sunk, it was a submarine. Our kiddo has—I shit you not—floating Mechano.

@George-K said in Vikings!: @blondie said in Vikings!: @Renauda So true. Yeah, maybe. But how many of them have a cool strange uniform hanging in them? [image: 1697843646428-f85rxwqw8aaxynt.jpeg] I wasn’t referring to the interior design or furnishings.

On the way to the airport, I always ask my wife if she turned off the stove. She doesn't like it.

Well they could that’s actually how DAs try to operate. But in this case there’s one man who needs to sit an Atlanta prison. Any deals that get him there are fine with me.
