Well, they're trying to take it down by 19 tons. I don't think Ms. Abrams is that much overweight.

it was very generous of the federal government to allow the house to turn over last year. They must have done that to maintain plausible deniability. Probably explains the lack of a veto-proof Senate all these years as well

@George-K said in BMW Is Giving Up on Heated Seat Subscriptions: Later in the article: "We thought that we would provide an extra service to the customer by offering the chance to activate that later, but the user acceptance isn’t that high. People feel that they paid double, which was actually not true, but perception is reality, I always say. So that was the reason we stopped that," Nota told Autocar. That's one perspective; another is that BMW was absolutely double dipping with heated seat subscriptions. The company started down that route to reduce production costs, making each car cheaper to build by streamlining the process. Fair enough. However, those reduced costs weren't then passed down to buyers via lower MSRPs. Customers were technically paying for those heated seats anyway, no matter whether they wanted them. Then, BMW was not only charging extra to use a feature already installed in the car, but also subjecting it to subscription billing, even though seat heating is static hardware not designed to change or improve over time. tl;dr "We're a bunch of fucking assholes"

Well Torres wasn’t even there that day.. He was in jail for defacing a BLM monument… Do it wasn’t about what he did, it’s about what he said he wanted to do… Seditious conspiracy is an affirmative act. You didn't do it, I didn't do it, he did it. By the way his sentence was light according to the guidelines. Y ah, but I’m pretty sure actually blowing up a vbomb in the Senate is a little worse…. Maybe. You know the saying, a bomb is temporary, sedition is forever! That is a saying, right?

@Jolly said in Trouble in Paradise: But you have a huge problem when it's so expensive to live in a town, that the people who work in the town live 40 miles away because of the price of housing. Seems like a natural equilibrium will be found. If there aren't workers, salaries will rise until there are.
