I think we're allowed to assume that people are showing up to work there. And the kids are in school. It's an example of that.

Ultimately lives are the measure of this event. Someday, not any time soon, that is how they will be compared. Of course the economic impact of this will probably turn out to be the most disruptive aspect. This event will be compared to 9/11 and World Wars in it's lasting influence.
