@lufins-dad Good point. I agree. And very rich people really lose sight of what the "real" world is like.

@89th said in Remind me how he got elected?: @taiwan_girl Good reply, overall you are accurate although a bit dramatic on both sides. I think a more accurate accounting is nearly everyone is in the middle of the bell curve. Sane, nice... would help you change your tire, or open the door for you, and probably doesn't want to talk politics or even care. But those in the media (news corporations as well as those who are covered by the news) make it seem like everyone is on the far left or far right. Here's what I think it really looks like. @lufins-dad said in When Electric Vehicles Stuck in Icy Winter Storm: In all fairness, he didn’t call out Youngkin, really, either. "If I was (sic) Glenn Youngkin, I'd be flooding the zone to get this I-95 crap fixed. DC suburbs are vengeful about this kind of thing. So, yeah, he did call him out, mistakingly thinking that GY was the governor. Alternative read: "The governor isn't doing his job."

I think the trick is using three Duracells and one Energizer. The differing battery chemistries lead to a magnetic imbalance in the tines of the forks which generates an alternating electro-magnetic wave/particle superposition effect.

IOW, not an actual quote, but a stretch of a paraphrase, applied to two widely different situations.

How about Miami, a VRBO with a pool. Most likely warm enough to use it and take the boy to the beach too. More space than a hotel so you’ll get some alone time. You can have a meal or two a day in the apartment to save some money. Nice dinners out still

And all the smart guys know that we know very little. Unlike covid, everyone knows everything about covid. The universe isn't like that. But if the right politician wrote a book about the multiverse, we would all be experts within a week.

Interesting. I like those history stories. I believe that in Slovakia, Budweiser is not allowed to sell beer under that name is there is a local beer of the same name that has been selling it for many many many years and "own" the name in that country.
