Where do they get our names???

A guy who is running for the US Senate from Ohio just emailed me wanting me to run for the GOP State Central Committee.
He's pretty Trumpian, an anti-swamp guy. Where he fails for me is he's also criticizing Governor Mike Dewine, a guy I think did a responsible, exemplary, tireless job of fighting the COVID pandemic in Ohio. Why Dewine is running again after all the crap he got for it is beyond me, but I will surely vote for him again.
I don't think there is much of anything on social media that would lead him to believe I would side with him.

Sorry, Josh asked if I knew anybody that would be good for the role...

I think you get on one persons list and they end up selling or giving you to others.
I gave money to McCain in 2000 in the primary. (Also Bill Bradley in the Dem primary - I was unhappy with the way the parties coalesced around GWB and Gore even before the first vote).
Anyway, since then I get on all kind of GOP lists. I can unsubscribe to each and it’s always honored, but then I get on another guy’s list. I should post some of the emails I get here.
Of course I end up on a hundred dem lists too, since I’ve given even more often there.

One thing that is good about GMail is that you have an infinite number of email addresses: If your regular address is, say, xyz@gmail.com, then you'll also receive email sent to, say, xyz+mccainlist@gmail.com. That way, you can track who gave your email to whom. And the best part is, you can specify rules that match only on emails that are sent to that address (e.g. delete).
