Nice, may be some day similar technology can benefit victims of female genital mutilation.

I just checked my account, I don't see anything obvious. The thing I wanted was that any email address in my domain would be forwarded to my default address. So if I use tncr@mydomain.com it will come to me but I didn't do anything to setup that email address. So whenever I set up an account on the web (I have hundreds like most people) I use the name of the site like hertz@mydomain.com or amazon@mydomain.com. It just helps me sort things. I looked around, but I don't see anywhere I can set this up, maybe the GoDaddy guy had to do it.

@Axtremus said in South Korea Closes Schools Again Due To COVID-19 Case Spike: Coronavirus: South Korea closes schools again after biggest spike in weeks https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-52845015 South Korea reopened schools briefly, saw number new COVID-19 cases shot up, so they close the schools again. Now that our testing per capita far exceeds South Korea we should be in better shape. It’s a long battle, harping on the initial roll out may prove to be irrelevant in the long run.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Pixel Phone vs Siri on dictation.: And yet most newborn babies look like Churchill. I used to tell my patients (obviously only those who had a good sense of humor) that all newborns look like Edward G. Robinson. [image: 1590777591937-screen-shot-2020-05-29-at-1.39.14-pm.png]

Where I'm at, employers pay into something called unemployment insurance, which is administered by the state. Now, as former employees begin filing for unemployment from our company, our rates do still go up.

I’m not talking about the order, I’m talking about the medical condition that would prevent one from wearing a mask.

@LuFins-Dad said in Joe Biden on COVID-19 deaths reaching 100,000 in the USA: In all fairness, most of the deaths were over 6 months (December 68 - May 69) so the rate isn't that much higher for COVID-19. Also, while there was no lockdown, the population density was about 40% less back then, the number of people in the workforce was less than half what it is now with a much higher percentage of mothers staying at home, fewer people rode subways or planes, all of these things that we believe helped spread this pandemic, the people of 1968 were a little more naturally insulated from...And their death toll per capita was still not that different than COVID-19. Yet, nobody that I've spoken with that was alive then really recall it as being considered all that important. Hell, it doesn't even make the Wikipedia list of important events in the US for that year. I find that astounding. If we had a 6 month flu season that took 100k lives using excess death calculation and in a non-locked down environment, most of us would shrug it off too. Look how many people shrug this off despite being so much worse.

@Jolly said in Let It Die?: Could the NYT draw as many eyeballs without the fluff? No. The fluff brings in the money you need to do actual journalism, at a ratio of about 1:10: for every ten stories of crap, you can do something decent. A big problem is social media. Folks sharing links on Facebook, Twitter, and hell, even here, is a huge driving factor in the increase in subscriptions. A very certain kind of story does well on social media. And it's not journalism.

@jon-nyc said in “On line three, we have Donny from Queens...”: That first video video is actually well done. It's beyond well done. It's brilliant. By removing all the OrangeMan tics, etc, and assuming a reasonable posture, it makes it even funnier. I loved the "injection" part.

That is very smart. Both Seedsavers and Baker Creek feature heritage seeds. That means you can let some of your plants to go seed and save those seeds in the freezer for years, using them when you wish. So check with your friend and look at your varieties and decide whether you want to do anything like that or not... Speaking of friends...An old, successful gardener in your area is an absolute weath of information. There are little tips and tricks for your area, you'll never find on a website or in a YouTube video. I still ask questions of my in-laws at least two of three times a week. My MIL in particular, could grow vegetables in the cracks of a concrete slab..
