I'm not at all opposed to them coming to work. I am opposed to them coming illegally. What say we take all the TSA workers from the airports and put them on this? When was the last time TSA found anything of note, any serious treat to aviation safety?

You might like Nate Bargatze, George. He has at least one special on Netflix, maybe more. If he has more, I recommend earlier first.

Thailand is opening up more. International vaccinated visitors (from certain countries - US included) are allowed to enter without having 14 day quarantine.

On the other side, Shenyang, in NE China requires a 56 day quarantine for all international arrivals to the city (28 day in a hotel and 28 days at home)!!!

I'm going to market little cans of compressed breath with a mouth shaped top for drunks to use to get around the breathalyzer.

I was reading one time where a guy who had been convicted of drunk driving and had a sensor installed in his car used his young daughter to blow into the device when he was technically too drunk to drive. 🙄

So you say there's a correlation between the social opportunism of making all the facile virtuous noises, and the practice of economic opportunism? Hmm. That's just crazy enough to be true.

    But at least:

Had 911 been contacted in a timely manner, police personnel would have been able to attempt to intercept those involved. We would like to remind everyone to stay vigilant and not to engage with people like this when a crime is occurring,” police said in a press release.

    So CT hasn’t become SFO

How about a Tank For Trump? A reelection of Trump in 2024, shucks even an ascendency in 2023, would make for gangbuster ratings

Wouldn't that just be a hoot? CNN, Fox, et al, always are looking at what would make the most money.

    Go for it, CNN!

What the actually HELL is a "race essentialist?"

It sounds like a very important job in an F1 team, like the guy who makes sure they’ve brought enough tyres and oil and stuff

    Perfect!

@mik said in 111 and rising...:

Not if you are shipping from east Asia.

Apparently, the Panama Canal won't accommodate these new superfreighters like the one that got stuck in the Suez Canal.

There has been some little movement with the new fining system that's being set up where they fine the shipping company $100 for the first day a container isn't picked up, $200 for the second, $400 for the third, $800 for the fourth, and so on... A big part of this logjam is still getting enough unionized trucks that match AB5 so the shippers are having to cave which is going to cost them the consumer billions of dollars.

@mik said in Where does it rank?:

Nah. Live And Let Die is right up there with Goldfinger.

To my thinking it’s last really good song Paul McCartney wrote.

    My top choices are:

    Thunderball
You Know My Name (Casino Royale)
    Goldfinger
    Live and Let Die
    You Only Live Twice

As well the instrumental theme from OHMSS is kickass in its own way.

Of course anecdotal "news" is instructive mainly of what the purveyor of the news wants others to think and feel.
