Gatorskin tires

I just bought some of those after getting sick of punctures. I did something wrong, as the inner tube blew the tyre clean off the rim.

It made a hell of a noise, but seems undamaged - which is more than I can say for the inner tube.

Maybe the rim pinched it? You really gotta push the tube into the tire to make sure the rim doesn't pinch it once you seat the tire. Mine aren't at all flexible in that area so I really gotta shove it in there.

The sad part was there was a 2 minute delay after I pumped the tyre up before the loud bang occurred - just enough time for me to say to Mrs. Phibes ,'See, I told you wasn't completely useless at this stuff....'

I cannot count the number of times I have completely, utterly, thoroughly lost my shit on the side of a road due to a problem that I didn't know how to solve at the time, but now I consider no big deal because it's happened so often by now.

So I got Aniki, my single speed out.
He needed his tires pumped up. That's it. No rust, cables are fine, wheels are still nearly perfectly true, quiet as a mouse. I absolutely love singlespeeds. Aniki is the shit.
