I rarely nap these days (although I wish I could), but it's 50/50 if I feel great when I wake up or if I feel groggy. Either way, I suspect it's quite healthy to have a regular nap each day.

The rectal sphincter tightens and spasms, and it just won't "let go." The other thing is that a "suction" or "vacuum" effect occurs above the item preventing easy retrieval. If you can get a catheter passed up beyond the item, that breaks the suction and makes extraction easier. OTOH, sometimes, you just gotta chew it up... About 20 years ago, a very pregnant mare at a barn where we were taking riding lessons went into labor as we arrived. Watching that foal being born was a remarkable thing to watch. I've seen hundreds, if not thousands, of human births, but this was amazing.
