He is quite funny. I watched some of his comedy specials.

They can be light enough to cross over tissue paper without disturbing it, but when they get on your lap they shift several hundred pounds from some extra dimensional space…

I was on it once when a mid-sized moving van was scraping the top. He was going 2mph trying to power through. And the funny thing was he was not some rando who rented a U-Haul. It was a professional moving company that should have known better.

LOL. Looking at Commander's Palace menu, there's a lunch option called, "Eat fit, NOLA." Right.

Yes. In fact it has to involve some clever analysis before doing automated searches. Naive messing around on a computer is not going to find an 80-digit number. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NXYxl3tH7_mZMTBYL7pCeP8RY2bquVyF/view?usp=drivesdk The search involved elliptic curves. I just love how basic and innocent the problem seems. It looks like the solution should involve some one- or two-digit numbers.

@Renauda said in "How do we deal with these people?": Clearly not slick press as I understand the term. Still, I too watch presentations on both mentioned media forms but on topics and issues tending toward the arcane humanistic fine arts and political/military historical rather than the current angst ridden progressive zeitgeist kulture - a subject that frankly bores me to no end. Best post on TNCR is FOREVER!!!

@Jolly While there was almost certainly cheating in the U.S. Senate race in Arizona between Kari Lake and no-name, open borders Ruben Gallego, as well as with Arizona’s abortion-till-birth Prop. 139, Trump was allowed to win the state and the six other battleground states. He couldn’t make it more clear what it’s really about. If the GOP wins, there was no material amount of cheating. If they lose, there was. He actually suggests dems rigged Arizona for the senate race but somehow decided not to push Harris over the top at the same time. This is a psychological commitment, not an evidentiary one.

I do not support big pharma advertising on the airways. Nor do I condone similar advertisement for gov’t regulated booze, lotteries and gambling.

@xenon said in Have we finally reached Peak Pelosi?: Heard an interview with her on the daily podcast recently. She was insufferable. Her position was that the Biden administration was great and it was just a messaging problem that the electorate didn’t understand that. Probably was pretty darn great in terms of her constituents. Which obviously consist of Nancy Pelosi.

I don't think it will happen. I do think it was the opening shot in negotiations. I think the DOE is going to be smaller and will keep their nose out of the classroom a bit more. I don't think the funding will decrease in actual terms of what an individual student would receive. I hope that with the decrease in red tape, comes an increase in learning.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the conversation is starting, this time, at how to handle strictly illegal orders. (That question answers itself.) In the first TDS pandemic of 2016-2020, the discussion was more around orders that one felt were wrong on a moral level.

Very cool article. Thanks for sharing. The thing with stair steps is neat. Simple but effective. Every so often, put in a step that is 1/2 height or 2x height. The human body is amazing in how it is able to anticipate the height of a step. A step can be off by just a little bit, and it throws me off.
