The gold medal for tap went to Emporia, Kansas, its second since it began competing. Berkeley Springs took silver. In the bottled non-carbonated category, Theoni Natural Mineral Water from Karditsa, Greece, won its second gold medal. The gold for sparkling went to Wilderness Mountain Water of Bland, Virginia. The gold for purified water went to DrinkMore Water of Gaithersburg, Maryland. The people’s choice award for best packaging (which included online votes) went to Piney Plains Natural Spring Water, from Little Orleans, Maryland, which came in a ruddy aluminum container topped with a screw-top lid and carabiner for easy access.
