Pretty much. The ships couldn't operate in contested waters, because they couldn't take battle damage and if they did, the crews weren't large enough to try to keep the ship afloat. The envisioned missile system was a bust. The ships cost way too much for the combat capabilities. We could have built corvettes much cheaper and been better off.

I've always said that you need a certain number of people to die, especially of the right age group.

Any unregistered security. Pre-IPO shares are another example. Many derivatives.

@jon-nyc said in "Mission Accomplished": It was apparent from the first weekend after the mask mandate that approximately 0.00% of non-vaccinated people would still wear masks. Even I called that one.

Don't have a clue. Everything we had in the hospital this weekend was 50+, but that's a small sample size. We did send one of the vaccinated nurses home with COVID Sunday...She's in her forties and felt like crap, but did not need hospitalization. I also had three other positives Sunday afternoon, but I don't know the vaccination status and none of them were admitted. Interestingly enough, I had two kids from the ED ping positive for RSV. Odd time of the year for that...

@jolly said in Sex Is Real: Michael McDonald hitting that high note in Peg is spectacular. Never cared for his too-nasal voice. Neil Young is in the same category, though I like his songs.

I thought the Chinese were pretty good about wearing masks. So, why the bump?

@horace said in Israel steps back: That's why I don't think anti-vax or anti-mask messaging is the bogeyman here. I wear a mask to gain access to a place where they are required, no other reason. I have natural covid anti-bodies and both shots. I doubt the mask does anything for me other than get me access.

Australian media reported that the one-week suspension was issued on Thursday and came after a review of Sky News Australia's content that allegedly denied the existence of Covid-19 or encouraged people to use hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin to treat the coronavirus, without providing countervailing context. Lack of context brings the death penalty I wonder if that is true for everyone
