BBC series about the rise of Thomas Cromwell.

Very well done program based on the first novel by Hilary Mantel. Exceptional attention to detail, and wonderful costumes. It's won a TON of awards and accolades.

It stars Mark Rylance as Cromwell, Damian Lewis as a deliciously evil Henry VIII, and Claire Foy as Anne Boleyn. Other notables are Anton Lesser (Endeavour) as More and Jonathan Pryce as Wolsey.

At times, it moves a bit slow, and Rylance's occasional staring into space gets annoying at times. But, for historical fiction, it's pretty good.

It portrays Cromwell in a pretty positive role, and More as not so nice.

Sadly, it ends with the death of Anne (the first of 3 novels) and there's no plan for more.

Thanks for nothing, George. As an Irishman, I am now obligated to throw my phone down to the ground in disgust and yell “FOKKING CROMWELL BASTARD”. If my phone breaks, it’s your fault.

Yeah, and unlike "The Tudors," there was no nudity, dammit.
