Turns out it was a fight between two people who knew each other. The guy that got stabbed was apparently part of a drug/sex group, and was a FWB of the stabber's sister. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/crime/bob-lee-cash-app-murder-b2338668.html

@Copper I think he cares about 2 things (you can debate which comes first) America Mr. Trump beyond that, I think he is flexible I totally agree with you. Personally I don’t think the order is that important. It is like everything else about Trump, flexible and dependent on the opportunity at hand.

There's only one rule when it comes to absurdist performance art: no matter what, gotta keep it going. The more committed he remains the funnier it's going to get.

Exactly right. A tip is for services received. It’s not a participation trophy

@89th said in "Praise the Camera Man.": Nice! Good twitter sub, too. This reminds me of when Aqua and I were in college making a short film. No Jon, not that kind. Anyway, I would ride on the hood of his volvo as he drove like 40 mph so that I could get a shot of the camera coming out of the passenger side window, moving to show the front of the car/road and then back in to the drivers side window. Man, I should find that VHS and post it here. What really sucks about that shot is that we were too successful at it. You watch it and you're like, yeah, okay, big deal, I see things ten times more interesting than that in the movies on the regular. But when you look at what we had to work with, it was quite the achievement. Worked perfectly and it completely hides how it was done.

My Ancestry.com experience has been a bit interesting. I'm slightly more than 50% confident I know who my biological parents are, based on: a biological first cousin on Ancestry, and how they fit in with what I know about my biological parents and known dates and locations I have no idea what to do with this information. On the one hand, there are very good reasons why the contact procedure is what it is. On the other, Maryland's is completely broken and ridiculous, so going through proper channels, there'd be absolutely no way to even know any of this, let alone contact anybody. It weirds me out just thinking about it, so likely I'll just let it sit and do nothing.

I've talked to my mom every week since I moved out of the house. Not really by my choice, tbh. I might prefer fewer hour long sessions of sharing excruciating details of our lives. But my mom doesn't take no for an answer. We'll be getting together with her and my brother's family later this week, for a four day celebration of my nephew's bachelor's degree graduation, organized by his mom. Seems excessive again. But one does what one can. These things, in my experience, are always in service of the female members of the family, who literally can't imagine other people not deriving great joy from it.

Bank robbers might need to stop and re-evaluate their lives before they do themselves untold harm. Edit: Sorry - I wasn't trying to make light of Jon's previous situation. He had to go and post something serious while I was still writing!

I’ve always thought they were doomed to fail, it sits right at the intersection of adverse selection and the tragedy of the commons.

Oh it's so good. Every time I watch it I notice something else... like just now at the very start he closes the door when he first sees it. Later he closes it again. The way he says succulent chinese meal always makes me hungry btw.

You’re assuming that the odds for each are independent, thus no influence on the other siblings when the first or second decided to adopt one of these recreational identities. / Ax Mode

Yup, someone (maybe here?) called the news "corporate media" which seems much more accurate. Every time there is a shooting, the news anchors...sorry the corporate media executives... salivate knowing there will be a ratings boost with the dramatic faux-somber coverage. But they'll always publish the face and name, so as to make the person infamous and thereby inspire other shooters.

@Jolly said in 5 years ago: My son's first child didn't weigh much more than that and also was a NICU baby. Tough times. The NICU nurses were absolutely fantastic. Talk about guardian angels. Great with parents, experts with tiny infants. They made us change the diapers from the start, which was good. We brought fresh milk each morning and evening and got our snuggles in until she was cleared to leave. On that day we arrived like normal and the doctor greeted us that today was the day she'll be coming home. In retrospect, a NICU stay for the first child was fortunate. The baby was in good hands, on monitors, and got on a good sleep cycle. Further, we didn't have to juggle other kids during our twice-daily visit to the hospital. Also this was the summer so we quickly learned where the free ice cream was each night on our way home.
