@Jolly said in Gaslighting the Ticking Time Bomb: @Doctor-Phibes said in Gaslighting the Ticking Time Bomb: Conversely, should people really be voting based on their emotional reaction to something that just happened? No, but information is not emotion. Not always. Consider how people would have voted, had they known Hunter's laptop was real. That story was covered up like a cat pawing litter. Stuff always happens. Stopping early voting because of stuff that may or may not occur during the two weeks before the election doesn't really make much logical sense. And it works both ways. Either candidate is more than capable of saying something monumentally stupid or crass a couple of days away from election day which could also make people regret their vote.

They will definitely be bullet stoppers for the Russian. Engineers and construction crews, hmmm probably not. LOL In somewhat related news, the South Korean government said that President Putin gave Premier Kim a locally produced and made Russian Aurus limousine. The interesting thing is that the car most likely contains a certain % of parts from South Korean parts manufacturers. LOL (Of course supplied prior to the war sanctions)

Yeah, Senate makeup will be key. It looks like Montana or Michigan are the R’s best shot at picking up a seat.

I don’t know I’ve never dropped the soap in prison but it sounds far less pleasant to me than a sports celebration.

@taiwan_girl said in Nungaray: It amazes me that people think that President Trump did a great job in reducing the number of illegal immigrants coming to the US, when if you look at the numbers, on average, President Obama did as good, if not better job than president Trump. (and yes, it has gotten much worse under President Biden but that still does not change teh fact that the numbers under President Trump were not any better than under President Obama (who in better than under President Bush)) https://www.statista.com/statistics/329256/alien-apprehensions-registered-by-the-us-border-patrol/ https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/nationwide-encounters https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/02/15/migrant-encounters-at-the-us-mexico-border-hit-a-record-high-at-the-end-of-2023/ I lost 38% in the stock market during the Obama presidency. At the very last of Obama's presidency and through Trump's presidency until COVID, our economy was doing quite well. Yet, still less illegals were coming in under Trump, even though people in power were trying to keep the border more open. So answer me this...Why are people illegally crashing out border in a down economy and high inflation?

I remember when a particularly useless low-level co-worker retired, and a certain vice president wrote a long, glowing goodbye, reminiscing about all the stuff they'd gone through together. I was taken aback at choosing that person get so nostalgic over. Then a few months later that VP retired, and she wrote a farewell email to everybody that included a brag about all the money she made in her career there. This was a person who, when addressing the company before, had a very carefully tended air of humility. I'd had quite a lot of respect for this VP, before she shattered the mystique by being herself a couple times.

@LuFins-Dad said in Who handles Biden?: I don’t really think Obama. Frankly, I don’t think the two of them like each other very much. I think Schumer, if you’re looking for a big name, but I think it’s really somebody that is behind the scenes entirely. Michelle hates Biden. Hates him. So she definitely ain't in the inner circle. Barry uses him, only as far as he can get what he wants. I figured Jill is the gatekeeper and checks off on any proposed agenda proposed by Zients.
