@Horace said in Cruz files bill...: A loophole in an unimportant law that solves a non-problem with small stakes gambling being part of a product purchase? Yes, in all honesty this whole thing probably isn't that important, which was kind of behind my point about how our positions would all be reversed if it was the other guy making the suggestion. It's not really a genius move either, of course, it's just political opportunism. I do also have to admit I find Ted Cruz to be one of the most unbearable individuals I can think of, which probably sways how I feel about pretty much anything he says. I know, I know, in this highly rational, scientific environment that shouldn't matter, but that's complete bollocks as we all know.

@Doctor-Phibes said in SCOTUS: Government censorship of Social Media OK...: isn't that like saying The Bible or Jesus condoned slavery because they don't condemn it? No. It's like saying "There's no speed limit, drive as fast as you want." Lack of prohibition is permission. @Horace said in SCOTUS: Government censorship of Social Media OK...: It's like a mistrial rather than a finding of guilt or not-guilt. So, the merits can be retried some other time, when this sort of censorship is actually coercive, and does some specific harm. Good point. It never was adjudicated, so the precedent stands.

Congratulations, @mark! A family elder was once assigned a Toyota Crown for his personal use as part of his employment perks. My reaction at the time was, "nice," but didn't feel that the Crown was anything "special." But that was many years ago, so most likely the Crown model has improved a lot over the years (as have most other Toyota models).

@Tom-K said in Is this antisemitism or are we foreskinphobes?: DAMN the place, it's all new to me. ok-- as I was saying I lack the passion of "the men of the scarlet partial pants." Anyways stoopid joke. If you don't mind I'd like to post here a little. Fire away! Just don't fire too premature, like some of our members...

I pretty well grew up in shopping malls. They seemed to always have a major grocery store and flag ship department store attached to them. Often dentists, doctors in an attached Professional Building. So this is where mom got the family food, we did our dentist & eye anppointments, and where we got everything needed for school. We were always with mom. When I became a teenager, malls were my dose of freedom, where I met friends and socialized in the food court. Movie theatres often were built onto malls then. That was our main entertainment as teenagers. When I was a young mom, it was the big toy stores, kids clothing, and the indoor kiddy play spaces (as germ laden as they are). I still like going to the mall for groceries and clothing. I like combining shopping tasks, getting it all done at once. I rarely do online shopping. My dentists are still in a major mall. Actually, my banks too.

I have two mosquito traps on my property. Many other insects, especially moths who are SO DUMB also get killed. To them, I am the deadliest creature on this planet.
