@Aqua-Letifer said in Work from home - forever.: Ideate Jesus. Not every job is a medical lab. You definitely want those guys working from home. The temptation to snort chemicals would almost certainly become overwhelming. I have enough trouble resisting the lure of cleaning fluid as it is.

@jon-nyc said in Today at SCOTUS: @Horace Plenty of people compare gender ideology to a cult. Oh, I doubt that she’s a true believer. Hell, I don’t think the majority of the Democrat leadership is. I just think that they were hoisted on their own petard after decades and decades of identity politics. The LGBTQ+ gained an outsized influence in Democratic politics. By the time they realized, they were too tied in to the movement politically, and they knew it. I have no doubt that Dem leadership is looking forward to the Supreme Court’s decision. It could provide them with a temporary exit ramp from the issue on a national basis.

Yeah but Trump isn’t worried about what the historians will think, he’s interested in receiving applause right now. That’s an even worse incentive for short term thinking.

@Tom-K said in TDS goes international: With all due love and respect that Trudeau guy hasn't been the best. He looks cool though, I'll give him that. We do not need any “due love and respect” with regard to the Dauphin. His tenure is finished and he is personally held in contempt from sea to sea. Trudeau stands no chance in leading the Liberal Party to victory again in the upcoming federal election next year. The Trudeau Liberals will en masse go down in flames and he will resign ignominiously as leader on election night. I do agree though the Dauphin keeps himself in top physical shape. As did his father, Pierre Trudeau.

@89th said in I promise I'm not high: Had a thought last night before going to bed after viewing a photo of a distant galaxy. How funny is it that the light from distant stars has been traveling for millions or even billions of years and relatively speaking only at the very, very, very last second did humans invent the camera or telescope to see it as it hits earth. Meh… Think of the countless wave-particles that traveled before man had the capacity capture a camera or the countless that were just missing seeing because of .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000098 of a millimeter angle.

We seemed to have skipped GenX and went right to millennials. Though I’ll bet next cycle we’ll have a gen xer or two.

It will be interesting to see a follow up in 5-10 years. I think that cities will rebound somewhat. There is a reason they grew so big to begin with. An excess of things available that you can't find elsewhere.

Continuing more... One of my partners found work at a place not much farther from where he lives than the old place. He was at a "meet the new staff" dinner. The CEO of his new hospital came and introduced himself. "Hi! I'm Tom Franklin. I'm the CEO." "HI Tom. I'd Ed Johnson." "You're new?" "Yup." "Where are you from? "I'm an anesthesiologist. I came from St. Elsewhere." "Good Lord. That place is the poster child in the Chicago area for how to not deal with an anesthesia group." My former group had an exclusive contact at St. Elsewhere from 1953 to 2017. They really fucked it up.

Short term, sure. Long term, probably not. (Guess I am just rewording what @Mik said. LOL)
