https://nypost.com/2024/12/05/real-estate/bill-cosby-facing-foreclosure-on-nyc-townhouse/ Bill Cosby, the once-beloved TV icon whose image crumbled during a highly publicized sexual assault scandal in recent years, is now facing foreclosure on his Manhattan townhouse. Court documents show the 87-year-old allegedly owes millions on the Lenox Hill property, which he and his wife, Camille, purchased back in 1980. CitiMortgage filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court this week, claiming the former sitcom star defaulted on a $4.2 million loan tied to the four-story residence at 243 E. 61st St., according to Crain’s. The financial giant alleges the Cosbys still owe $3.7 million in principal, with the rest racking up in interest and fees. The brownstone, located between Second and Third avenues, spans 5,000 square feet. [image: bill-cosby-nyc-townhome-foreclosure-94750875.jpg?resize=1024,682&quality=75&strip=all]

https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2024/12/05/illinois-assault-weapon-ban-gun-jb-pritzker-crime-chicago-appeal The federal appeals court in Chicago put a hold Thursday on a downstate judge’s recent ruling against Illinois’ controversial assault weapons ban — meaning the law will remain in place while the legal controversy it’s generated continues to work its way through the courts. The order from the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is no surprise. Nor was the Nov. 8 ruling from U.S. District Judge Stephen P. McGlynn, who found the assault weapons ban unconstitutional. This is the second time McGlynn moved to block the ban, only to be undone by the appellate court. The result is that Illinois can continue to enforce the ban while lawyers take their arguments to the 7th Circuit, based in Chicago’s Dirksen Federal Courthouse. A panel of judges there found in 2023 that weapons covered by the law don’t have Second Amendment protection.

Indeed. But, if you have a landline (like I do) in addition to mobile, consider this: https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club/topic/34893/automated-call-block?_=1733493742830 And I commented on the AI Granny in that thread.

What's funniest to me is this is exactly what I was talking about when reversing the "election denial" angle in 2020. If Trump lost, all tantrums and recounts are ok... but if Trump wins, then you see phrases in the article such as "I guess they didn't get the memo that Trump won. They will on Jan. 20th I'm sure!"

I can't listen to Bongino. He yells too much. But, I've often wondered why they have a dual role. It would make sense to roll everything else into the FBI while keeping protective services.

Yeah, unless the guy on the floor was still armed. But it looked like he was shooting at the other one.

I wonder how much float they actually have when they value those things at 500MM. FTX would do the crypto equivalent of this: I securitize my house and issue a billion shares. I sell one of those shares to my wife for $1. Voila, my house is worth a billion dollars.
