I wonder if she was pole-ish? Or, perhaps, bi-polar? If the surgery failed, it would have been AA tragedy.

Next maybe they’ll investigate whether it’s possible to do the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. I’ve always been skeptical, myself.

They could eliminate all the violations by changing the law. It seems to be working for shoplifting in LA.

@George-K said in 50 years: @Aqua-Letifer said in 50 years: don't believe so, no. Neither was Spearchucker Jones. And this, in a nutshell, is why movie>show. The movie (and book) was edgy, dark, and hilarious - "Is this man an enlisted man or an officer?" "Sixty-Nine is Divine!" "Author!" That kind of stuff would have never been on the show which really tried to be all touchy-feely. And that's why I didn't like it. Taken without the history of the original material, it would have been OK, I suppose. But, I always watched it with the movie in mind. And Sally Kellerman > Loretta Swit. [image: 1663500793626-81bu3-spndl._ac_sx425_-666444506.jpeg] Don't get me started on Frank Burns. Duvall's portrayal of the deeply flawed, much hated (deservedly so) surgeon was fantastic. The show made him almost likable. The movie was edgier with absolutely no point. The show was family-friendly but at least tried to say something.

@Aqua-Letifer said in Peterson: "I am your monster.": @Doctor-Phibes said in Peterson: "I am your monster.": @Aqua-Letifer said in Peterson: "I am your monster.": @jon-nyc said in Peterson: "I am your monster.": @Doctor-Phibes Think back to the cool cucumber who faced down that BBC reporter who kept trying to put words in his mouth. Very different man now. Far less disciplined. Even when he had all the time in the world to collect his thoughts. You should watch more of his stuff. He's not unhinged—the change in tone was tactical. You can absolutely argue that it's a bad tactic—he's suggested as much in a recent video, talking about his open message to CEOs—but it is a tactic. From what I've seen of his recent stuff, he's become very arrogant. Yeah, he sounds like your typical angry boomer these days. But I guarantee that you, and everyone else here, would have handled the shit that's been thrown at him with far less grace and sanity. So I also don't much care how much he's "slipped." It's amazing he's not dead. Yes the difficulty of this task he has chosen is enormous. Flippant dismissals of the guy are ridiculous.
