UPSC: How Indians crack one of the world's toughest exams
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-64316112

Fascinating look at how the government of India chooses its technocrats/bureaucrats.

I wonder what sorts of questions appear on the exam? Specific subject knowledge where you know how to prepare, or general knowledge/creative problem solving where preparation is less obvious?

      Education is extremely important.

@Horace said in Union Public Service Commission, the Exam:

You can see questions from past exams online, lots of them published at https://prepp.in/ias-exam-exam/practice-papers

(E.g., this PDF has exam questions from from 2022.)

Don't be intimidated if you see Tamil in the first few pages. The material is actually bilingual, with the same questions presented in Tamil and in English. If you see Tamil first, just keep scrolling and you will get to the English version before long.

Thanks. I guess Indian civil servants are well versed in the bureaucracy. That probably comes in handy.

          Education is extremely important.
