On a lot of the more extreme roller coasters, they’ve started requiring you to stow your phones in a locker before getting on the ride. Several rides at Universal require passing through a metal detector.

Looked ok to me. He gave thumbs up twice. U of Cincy players figured big yesterday. Gardner on that play and Kelce last night for KC.

@Ivorythumper My RR was willing to learn and please. When a pup he was a bit hard mouthed but easily corrected. Never one to jump up like many pups and adolescent dogs. For a hound breed he was also smart. He was good with other dogs and with cats. He only barked when there was a good reason. As a guard he made his presence known but never territorial. I imagine though he would not have tolerated any harm to any member of the house. He needed no grooming and I don’t recall him to shed much. An easy keep.

Is she imitating Barack Obama imitating Johnny Carson? [image: 1665517309679-594799db-97d1-4703-8d02-1c1f717407bb-image.png][image: 1665517273808-0df3afd4-a446-4c05-95f4-8170b1018988-image.png]

@Copper said in Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?: @Jolly said in Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?: Are you or are you not pro-death? Is there really any question? I dunno. The coward won't answer.

@Mik said in For those of us with young children: I wish I had heard this. Shit, me too. I just had a similar discussion this week about Thanksgiving. Yes, the real story is about white people doing evil white people shit, and one level of analysis down from that were Native Americans engaging in their own shenanigans, too, etc., etc. But that's precisely why Thanksgiving is so freaking great. I couldn't give less of a damn how un-PC the history is, the history isn't the point at all. Out of all that crazy political reality, look at what the day now means for us. It's an ideal and a good reminder, and thank God we have that.

I just watched the whole debate. First, it was the best run debate I've seen in years. the questions were on point, and the moderators held both to the rules. Both candidates made good points, but Ryan time after time just reiterated his campaign ad messages, many of which are outright lies. If I tell you this lie often and loudly enough you will believe it. Vance was, as he was during the primary, well prepared, well spoken, had a good command of the facts and cut through the political bullshit to the issues t hand. He more often than not actually answered the questions that were asked rather than deflecting and going back to canned responses. Ryan did not. Vance earned my vote in this debate.

@Horace said in Vance is the victim of a smear campaign: @taiwan_girl said in Vance is the victim of a smear campaign: So, how is this race different from any other? One side says that the other is the devil. Vote for me and we will all be skipping down the gold road among the flower petals while unicorns run by our side. The other side says exactly the same thing. And, as is often true, the truth is somewhere in the middle. :woman-shrugging: I think we can all agree that political rhetoric never tells the whole story or provides sufficient food for thought for decisions about which candidate is preferable to the other. As one matures in their thinking, one might weigh both sides and come to a determination about which is better, in any given case. I agree 100%. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't do that. I have this discussion with one of my relatives. He will vote for one particular party in Taiwan, regardless. They could put a farm animal dressed in human clothing on the ballot and he would vote for it, just because it was from "his party".

@89th said in Slowest drive-thru?: @jon-nyc said in Slowest drive-thru?: I’ve been by a Starbucks with 30 cars in line, and almost nobody parked. You run in and out with your coffee and the line has barely moved. Me too, except for the rare time when you go in and the in-store service is SO SLOW because they are focusing 90% of their operations to support the drive through volume. Why wait for an order? They always have free samples out in full sizes, though they are derivative of Coke cans… Today I am sharing an Americano with Paul!

@George-K said in Fastest Accelerating Electric Car: @Doctor-Phibes said in Fastest Accelerating Electric Car: NASCAR isn’t really an international series. Yeah, but the WORLD SERIES, man! They don't call it the WORLD series for nuthin'! USA! USA! USA! Well, if we're going to get like that, the US equivalent of Formula 1 is IndyCar rather than NASCAR, which is more the US equivalent of International Tractor Racing, and there have been plenty of European winners of Indy races - in fact there have been a number of champions from the other side of the pond. Incidentally, there has only been 4 American winners of the Indy 500 this century, as opposed to 6 Brazilians and 5 Brits.

Wow. For that price, I am assuming it does not include any transfer of "intellect property".
