    @larry
That's the music I grew up hearing. Though I never knew his name, his work is exactly what I think of for piano in country music. Thank you for sharing this, and may he continue to play his music with the angels.

I don’t get it. The numbers weren’t bad, so why all the fuss? Unless they didn’t know the numbers weren’t bad? That’s actually kind of troubling…

No, that's exactly how it should work. The numbers are independently calculated. They're not supposed to know, or have any influence.

Si, but SecLab should should have a pretty good feel of whether the numbers are good, bad, or so-so based on their own work…

    SecLab doesn't decide the formula.

The formula and the exact numbers aren’t what I’m talking about. Just a general feel for how employment numbers looked. The department should have certainly been in regular contact with various trade and labor groups and should have a general feel for whether these groups are seeing large drops in new hires and layoffs… The fact that they were expecting something different than what they saw tells me that either there has not been consistent communication or the communication gave them false impressions. Either of which isn’t good…

I know I'm beating a familiar drum, but why do we have to go back and do this? You either spend the majority of your time in one place or you don't. You either live in a district or you don't. You either have ID or you don't.The

People needlessly have to revisit simple things because of the actions of idiots.

@jolly " The action feels more about performing self-sacrifice, proving liberal bona fides by showing off the small indulgences you'll give up. "

Let's not call it "virtue signaling"....

OK, that's funny. i don't care who you are.

We watched Home Team the other night. Predictable, but not awful. Liked the Payton cameo.

If I type whoami into a terminal window, the reply is klaus. I'm not sure how helpful that is with regard to your question.

Whatever the reason, that's a pretty depressing statistic.

It'll take a while for more blacks to get off the plantation.

Agreed. If it becomes a party of orthodoxy it's as bad as the opposition.

Maybe. Probably. Makes no difference to me. I have never had to use one.

…come to think of it, yes once, before Xmas to attend a juniors curling match. Never been necessary to go into stores.

But as I say, makes no difference to me. Kenny’s just afraid the libertarian wing nuts in the Conservative Party of Alberta will turf him in April when his leadership is up for review. Good riddance to Kenny too. Useless little toad.

I think blacklisting a person because of those stated in the opening story is asinine.

So do I. But that's what Freedom is all about. I also think refusing to cater gay weddings is asinine.

If you want it to stop, you might need some government interference. Again, that would cut both ways, so the bakers might find themselves forced to sell cakes.

Alternatively, just let the market take care of it.
