Nope, the kids are all vaccinated now too, as are the older parents-in-law we will be hanging out with. I do appreciate Fauci's service to our country over the last few decades and, in particular, his tireless efforts in helping to get past the pandemic despite the political landmines he had to navigate around.

Y'all are assuming that:

1. Everybody testing is proficient in collecting the testing sample.
2. Everybody testing is proficient in performing the test. Be surprised how many ain't.
3. You're assuming that the test will detect all strains of COVID.

@Jolly exactly. When D3 started getting symptomatic, about a month ago, she didn't trust herself to do the test. She went to a clinic and tested positive. As I told her, a false negative might mean you still have it, so don't rely on it. A positive test is a POSITIVE test.

But on the other hand, a false negative is really no worse than not testing at all. Really no downside to testing. It will catch some people who are positive, even if only a small amount.

(Having said that, I am among large gatherings and do not test any more)
