    Glaring admission.

Another one that deserves an honorable mention, from back when A&E actually made some pretty decent tv movies... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0287535/

    TLDR: Trump’s up 21,000 to 6200.

If you adjust for average BMI by party affiliation that’s a dead heat.

Thanks for sharing that, George. Weirdly it did help.

A friend of mine shared a story with me about how he and his girlfriend had 3 rabbits. (Well, she did, he was just sort of along for the ride.) But one was a total bastard and so as a vindictive kind of a thing, she left without telling him and left that rabbit behind to make him deal with it.

For several years he and the rabbit just kind of put up with each other. The rabbit didn't want to interact, didn't want to socialize, just stayed in his cage. But eventually they got really attached and it was awful when he passed.

    Animal relationships are weird.

That goes along with the current trend of several swing-state Senate candidates not getting anywhere near Harris.

My first job was with a small engineering company, there was about 10 of us. Everybody did everything. I did engineering, testing, equipment calibration, packing boxes, making tea, I picked up visitors who needed a drive, we all painted the reception area, occasionally we cleaned the bathroom.

If they paid better I'd never have left. Nowadays they're owned by CSA International, so I rather doubt it's the same.

@89th said in NOW they tell me.:

Yikes. I love apple cider in the fall. Will have to make sure it's pasteurized I guess.

Yeah. You don’t want to be one of those .000000000038% of cider drinkers to get an upset stomach.

It was quite a week for Elon - catching the rocket, announced he'll be selling robots in 2026, self-driving taxis, robovans, starlink-India, and who knows what else that I missed. All distractions from things from issues that might affect stock price - but amazing, nonetheless.

I'm more upset that tncr.coffee-room is redundantly redundant. Should just be tn.coffee-room, amirite?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_Continues

Star Trek Continues is an American fan-made web series set in the Star Trek universe. Produced by the nonprofit Trek Continues, Inc. and Dracogen, and initially co-produced by Far from Home LLC and Farragut Films (who previously produced a fan-made "Starship Farragut" series), Star Trek Continues consists of eleven episodes released between 2013 and 2017. The series is an unofficial direct continuation of Star Trek: The Original Series, and emulates its visual and storytelling features to achieve the same look and feel. The creators of Star Trek Continues intended to finish the original five-year mission of the show, which they do in the final two episodes.[1]

I may have seen part of one episode of "Farragut" - but it's been forever ago.

Go to the link and see the cast. Jame's Doohan's son plays Scotty.

@taiwan_girl said in Hmmm.....Who Said I was Dead?:

    https://torontosun.com/news/weird/worst-nightmare-donor-wakes-up-on-operating-table-as-doctors-prepare-to-harvest-organs

Everyone here who has participated in giving "anesthesia" for organ harvest raise your hand.

    Ok, lemme 'splain this.

The absolute FIRST thing you do when you do one of these cases is give the "dead" person a huge dose of muscle relaxant. I'm talking about twice the normal dose - you paralyze the hell out of them, and you don't worry about reversing it because, well they're DEAD. Then your job is to maintain cardiovascular stability so that organs don't get damaged - you treat them like any other anesthetic.

At least until they stop the heart and thank you for your help and you can go home.

    Who is "Natalie Miller?"

“The donor had woken up during his procedure that morning for a cardiac catheterization. And he was thrashing around on the table,”

Ah, so he WASN'T on the operating table when the thrashing occurred. He was in the cath lab. That's completely different, He never made it to the OR.

Thrashing around on the table of the cath lab doesn't mean "alive." I wonder what if what they saw was all lower-brain reflexes.

If that happened, and I have little doubt that it did, the next thing would be to repeat the EEG and see if there's any cortical activity.

All that said, it all sounds pretty sloppy.
