I posted in the "Podcast" thread about a recent podcast called "Agent of Betrayal" about Robert Hanssen, an FBI agent who passed secrets to USSR/Russia for many many years. Did it for money for sure. Actually just recently died while in prison in teh US "Supermax" prison on Colorado.

I liked the reviews of the movie climbs better than the actual climbs---way less stressful to watch, lol. That said, the guys coaching abilities are almost as impressive as his climbing. Great combination of helpful directions, and motivating demeanor. (without phony/useless 'rah rah!' nonsense)

I can’t imagine the surgery to repair and subsequent amount of physio rehab this person will require. Am sure this qualifies as a life altering injury.

@jon-nyc said in On Islamic anti-semitism: He may well be the closest we have to a new Hitchens. Funny you should say that. I was thinking it as well. He’s just as insightful on these issues, but not as acerbic.

@jon-nyc said in Insurance - I'm an idiot.: They know people get complacent and most just suck up the price increase. Especially if they procrastinate paying the bill and don’t have time to shop around. That's exactly my situation. I was lazy... ETA - last year, when I called my Allstate agent, they said the increase in price is industry-wide. They lied.

I have long said that the white people who have supported this kind of crap envision a kumbaya world where we all live in harmony. They've watched too much Star Trek and read far too little history. It's not about equality but advantage.

Yep...I'm currently doing a restoration project for a client that lives on Marthas Vineyard. They were simultaneously having work done on their home there, and must have gotten wires crossed with someone...they've reached out to me to ask if we could store the piano after we're done for possibly 3-4 years

Garvey only came close because Porter took more votes from Schiff. Shiff will win in November. [image: 1709840167986-screenshot-2024-03-07-at-1.35.55-pm.png]

@taiwan_girl Their analysis published in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases found that not only did the man, 62, have a fully functional immune system, there were indicators that his immunity against the virus that causes Covid-19 was better than people who had just received a normal number of vaccines. According to some people and websites, he should now be a fully assimilated Borg drone. Pleased to learn that is not the case.
