@George-K I will have to watch that. I really enjoyed my trip on the train to Los Angeles in the sleeper car.

Interesting that Samsung wanted to get into the car market but had the bad timing of just getting started when the Asian economic crisis started in the late 1990's. So, they ended up only making a few cars under the Samsung name. (In addition, I heard that the Korean government put pressure on them to stop production, as they did not want to cause all the Korean car makers to go bankrupt).

@Loki said in To Unseat Graham: I doubt it’s as close as people suggest in SC I agree. I think it could hurt him and it could be closer than he has ever had, but no matter what he does, i think he will win.

@George-K said in Impeachment Redux?: We'll know where your priorities lie. C'mon, we already do.

@Mik said in Celebrating the death of a SCOTUS justice: they are the equal of any of Trump's blusters DId Trump do the same for public figures who had died? Sincere question. But, even if he had, the people who criticize him (Greenwald and the guy at Rolling Stone) lost any standing in any debate about "high ground."

When I try that, the quarters get lodged in the deep grooves of my chiseled abs.

Notebooks are not typically used for long-term computation-intensive tasks. It is reasonable to optimize for small bursts of CPU power, as Apple is doing. Better cooling would negatively affect size and weight. For typical office stuff, CPU performance simply doesn't matter. I'm currently using a 2014 MBPro and a 2019 MBPro. Theoretically, the latter should be orders of magnitude faster. In practice, I rarely ever notice a difference.

Thanks everyone. Had a very relaxed day, but more sober than I would like as I was one taxi duty in the evening. Bloody kids have no respect for the elderly.

I’m not surprised, but that’s totally irrelevant to my point.

Here's what some friends are telling me. It's true that the covid numbers associated with going out to the club's and bars are very low, but it's because the bars and clubs have been doing a very good job of following safety practices. No one I've talked to give any support to the claims regarding the mayor.
