Answer: [image: 5102372_06_1898_springfield_30_40_krag_ca_640.jpg] 30-40 Krag Carbine. Adopted by the U.S. Army in 1893, Krag was the first small-bore, smokeless centerfire fielded by the army. Roosevelt armed the Rough Riders with it, while some U.S. troops were still carrying 45-70's. Interestingly enough, Roosevelt didn't carry a Krag, but carried an 1895 Winchester chambered in 30-40 Krag during the Spanish-American War.

Our KitchenAid bottom freezer model has been reliable for 15 years now. Problem is you cannot expect it to be manufactured by the same company or even in the same country today.

That is interesting. I was surprised when I first read that someone does not have to have a law degree to be on the Supreme Court. Also interesting is that the supreme court number of judges varied quite a bit before ending on nine. A article I just read that has some of that history from National Geographic. SUpreme Court Judges have had different numbers

That baby loves a melon! The anticipation as it waits with its mouth wide open is quite adorable.

For the British owner, this was probably a step-up from what he was used to.

Um....exactly! Your point? You know what else I control? 55 grains of full metal jacket going about 3250 feet per second. Now get off my lawn!

I feel like maybe 5 years from now we might get some fairly accurate excess death numbers and finally know how this went. I feel I just can't trust most of the (small) numbers we are getting from other countries.

Nice truck! Used to think those 1960-66 Chevrolets were so dorky looking when I was a kid. My best friend's grandfather had one circa 1970. Now they are maybe my #4 or 5 favorite truck year. I love the 1960 GMC of this body style as it has "hood" nostrils.

@George-K Yep, but oddly enough I feel like I was driving the Accord when I took Klaus up the Columbia Gorge and out shooting above Mosier, Oregon. You know how some times you are hoping someone will hit you and total your car so you can get the insurance money? I wished so hard for that with the Vibe. I often traded cars with my oldest when the Accord needed work. But eventually traded the Vibe in to help Emily get her first car (at age 30). Two months later she was rear ended in her brand new car and it was totaled. I could have used that $5,000!

@George-K said in The role of SCOTUS: I follow Jonathan Turley on Twitter, and the current SCOTUS conversation is interesting. Given that, I found these comments worthy of attention: https://twitter.com/ToddTHeller/status/1307693223696105472 Read the tread. That is interesting. I do agree the Court has waaay too much power...

You need to understand that Derek is my cousin... you be treadin' on family here! But that is not dicing up the argument - it is stating the history. It's not about anything but power politics and it never has been.
