"There is a sickness in the land -- a deep, tenacious sickness, which must be addressed." Presumably they're talking about the ham and pineapple.

Yes, the Saints were quite similar to the Ramones, but they were Australian.

Now how the heck did that ever happen? That, my friend, is the good question. Please don’t tell me that you two think there was some sort of conspiracy to allow the people into the Capital building? Somehow or other, this invasion of the bearded knobheads was the fault of the Democrats. You can count on it!

.@senatemajldr on the U.S. Capitol Attack: "The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people." Yes, one has to admit to that. Trump's whining about unevidenced election theft caused a bunch of doofuses to raid a largely unguarded Capitol. I'm unclear how long the occupation lasted, but I think it was about as long as it took the Powers That Be to take it seriously. It was a huge embarrassment, but obviously never a serious or credible attempt at a coup. I consider the lies about the racism narrative to be more virulent and dangerous and destabilizing, but clearly not enough of the cultural seats of messaging power are with me on that.

@aqua-letifer said in Marriage of convenience.: @axtremus said in Marriage of convenience.: Real life is not a fairy tale. Every family has its own challenges. The intersection of family law, property law, and immigration law is not always coherent. Let's hope they did what they did with the best of intentions and every one went into it fully informed and with their own free will. Please don't ever consider a counseling career.

The office leaves him at noon. Pelosi would get the nod at that point. Regarding swearing in of Pence it’s a good question. Or rephrasing it, at what point would they decide not to bother? There was a several hour delay from JFK being declared dead to LBJ’s swearing in on the plane back to DC. But they would go a day or two? I doubt it. What’s the limit? Might depend on what Pence wanted to do, no doubt in consultation with Pelosi and Roberts. Re Airforce One, it’s a call sign that follows the President, not the equipment. He could take off in AF1 and it would cease being AF1 at noon even if it was still in the air.

@jon-nyc said in Peaceful Transition of Power: @jolly Remember all those leftists that started offering “perspective” around 9/12/01? I found it to be of limited utility myself. Seemed more like apologism to me. Perspective, sir. Perspective. You're doing your best to sow the seeds of conflict, when conduct and law is not enforced fairly by a society. You want war? Best way I know to grow one...

@axtremus said in The Lincoln Project Threatens: @jolly said in The Lincoln Project Threatens: I think it hilarious that the organization Conway founded, is now trying to make sure his wife never works again. The Conways said they want time off to focus on their family; so I don’t think “working again” in the short term is something they care about. Even if Kellyanne does not work for political campaigns in the USA because of the Trump stink, she can still work foreign campaigns where voters don’t care about Trump at all. Besides, there is life, and work, beyond politics. Pay attention, lad. The Stalin wannabes at the LP want to make sure anybody who worked for Trump, never works anywhere again.

Flying in VR is so cool. You actually feel it when you make a turn, dive, climb, etc. Able to turn and look around the aircraft cabin. Looking outside and down to the ground, up to the stars. Night flying is super cool. I am using my RC Transmitter for my flight controls. It works really well. I might get some pedals and a yoke and throttle. Heck, I am building a full on Sim Racing rig I might as well build it out to handle flying too. The graphics are stunning on the 49" ultra-wide. I am actually flying out of my neighborhood airport. 44C [image: 20210118-150840.jpg] [image: 20210118-150904.jpg]
