What can you cook for thirty-nine cents?

That is kind of cool.
A few years ago, I was in Indonesia, and there was a street vendor selling snacks. His specialty was kind of like an omelet with a hot chili. And it was not super small size either. It was sold for between 5-10 US cents. I remember thinking to myself , "How can you sell at that price and still make money for yourself?" LOL

BTW, if you are a struggling college student with very health coronary arteries, he has a whole series of cooking cheap (really cheap) videos...

Today, Lucas and I were talking about something else and I brought up that there was nothing good, cheap, and fast. He responded “Ramen!”.
Touché, young man, touché...

Veggies are your friend. Most of them are cheaper than fruit and meat on the whole, there are many varieties that provide a lot on the nutrient spectrum with minimal bad shit.
Starches are good for rounding out a meal, dirt cheap, and can be stored long enough that your grandkids can use 'em if you don't.
Veggies + starch + spices = many, many cheap meals that are easy to make, easy to come by.
...I just add meat or a high-protein equivalent to mine because I am not a communist.

When you were a college student, tuition was about the price of a full tank of gas.

@aqua-letifer Yes, but the tanks were much bigger back then.
