@jolly said in Too modern for me.: I dunno, that looks more like modern construction. I wonder what land values are in the Irish countryside? Low enough to support very much of this? I'd guess that Northern Ireland is cheaper than much of the rest of the UK or the The Republic of Ireland, which is notoriously expensive. You're right, it does look like an architect designed thing.

@jolly said in Pacemaker: https://nypost.com/2021/04/15/former-vp-mike-pence-recovering-after-receiving-a-pacemaker/ From the article: "Pence disclosed his medical history when he was nominated for vice president in 2016, including the diagnosis of asymptomatic left bundle branch block, the statement said." A left bundle branch block will not require a pacemaker. The electrical stimulus to the ventricles arises from the AV (atrial-ventricular) node. From there, the stimulus travels via two bundles of conductive tissue - one to the right ventricle, and one to the left ventricle. The one to the left ventricle bifurcates into anterior and posterior portions. The fact that he had a LBB indicates that the sick part of the bundle is before that bifurcation. Many people live with asymtomatic LBBB, and most don't even know it. The major physiologic effect of it is that the right and left ventricles don't contract at the same time (perhaps 120 milliseconds apart). With a LBBB, the stimulus goes down the right bundle, and then has to go back up the left ventricle - it takes a detour. Since the stimulus is going retrograde up the LV, the efficiency of the LV contraction is not as good as it could be. The fact that he required a pacemaker indicates that his disease progressed, probably to the point that no signal was getting past the AV node, and it started firing on it's own (it'll do that if not stimulated from above, in the atria), but at a slower rate - usually in the 40s or 50s. This is more than you wanted to know, of course, but I just find this kind of stuff fascinating. https://www.verywellhealth.com/left-bundle-branch-block-lbbb-1745784 Is a Permanent Pacemaker Required? Unless there is a reason to insert a CRT pacemaker to re-coordinate the function of the ventricles, most people with left bundle branch block never require a pacemaker.1 However, in some cases, the presence of left bundle branch block indicates a more general disorder of the cardiac electrical conducting system. In such people, the heart's electrical signal can become disrupted in several ways, and significant bradycardia (slow heart rate) may eventually develop, and a permanent pacemaker might be required.11 For this reason alone, people with left bundle branch block should make sure they have regular medical checkups.

The kid who was shot in Chicago was running from police AFTER shots had already been fired and he was carrying a handgun. It's very sad but that kid put himself where he was and his compatriots did too by promoting the gangster, ant-cop culture. To call this racist is ridiculous. Actually I think the cop is black.

Two doorbells are operational. My house is made with a very thick stone walls with plaster and metal lath walls that are at about 3/4" thick on each side of the true dimensional lumber studs. It is extremely difficult to near impossible to get aWiFi signal to penetrate the walls. Ubiquity to the rescue! Ordered this Power Over Ethernet, Indoor/Outdoor Access Point on Monday. It arrived today. https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-wireless/products/unifi-ac-mesh-ap [image: UAP-AC-M_Front_grande.png?v=1582627129] Until now, I was not getting reliable video feeds from either doorbell. I installed The AP on the side of the house so one antenna is visible to the front door, and the other is visible to the porch door. Both cameras are now transmitting in real-time at 1600x1200. The front door camera has already gone into Infra-Red mode here. [image: 2021-04-15-19-51-57-Live-View-QEMS-DMP.png] Porch Pirates Beware! lol We have never had a problem with such things. The two doorbells are using a Honeywell wireless adapter to activate a distinct chime sound for each. So, they actually function as a doorbell. lol. We haven't had a doorbell for almost 20 years. Now we have two with cameras, speakers, microphones, night vision, motion detection... Big brother Mark is watching...

@mik said in Be careful how you display your art...: In a way it is quite appropriate given that JonOne grew up a graffiti artist, painting on other people's property. His anger betrays a certain lack of self-awareness. Like the others, I agree. Kind of funny
