@lufins-dad said in Peppers repeating?: I’ve seen it a lot... I have, too. Still looks weird to me every time.

I watched 10 minutes. Hopefully Jordon was prepped by his daughter. It was awkward as hell and if the interviewer was a stranger and they were together it would only have gone down one of two routes, one of them being him fleeing and the other, well we’ve seen that movie lots of times.

@lufins-dad said in Want to really piss Americans off?: @loki said in Want to really piss Americans off?: Much of the new car shortage is chip related. When you consider what those chips do, like rear cameras and lane control if a revolution is caused by not having those features then we deserve to all die. Remember that the cameras are required by law since 2017. Oh. Did not know that. I don’t really use mine except the beeping is helpful in parallel parking.

The Isle of Man TT is an unbelievable race, and Joey Dunlop was an amazing guy. We went there on holiday when I was a kid - it was a short ferry hop from where I grew up. The roads over the mountains are really narrow.

I was surprised Israel got an extra four days to prosecute its defense. The optics of asymmetric war is always complex and the risks of spillover consequences too great. Biden in my opinion gave cover to Israel for more days and we are not privy to the real dialogue between him and Netanyahu who I suspect was grateful. Anti-semitism is real and rampant around the world. Israel does itself no favors by continuing to expand in new settlements. Clinton did a great job of getting so close to an agreement that would be unthinkable today. The Palestinians put too much pressure on Arafat so he bucked and now we see what happens when there is no deal. Generational misery.

I could not possibly care less what either one of them think on any subject save their own writing.

@mik said in Without Remorse: Willem Dafoe was the perfect Clark in Clear and Present Danger. The other thing I REALLY hated about it was the 'SAY HER NAME' thing. Really? Got to get the Woke/BLM thing in there.

@lufins-dad said in Wrong leg: And he still has the other leg needing to come off... But, let’s face it, at his age he was spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair anyway... To your point: The patient was suffering from "numerous medical conditions" and ailments affected both his legs. From a different article: Austrian news outlet Heute reported that the patient did not initially recognise the mistake, because of his illness. It also said the 82-year-old was asked to confirm beforehand, but his articulation was limited, it reported Fritsch saying. But yes it is terrible just the same.

@george-k I've read many times that when kids abuse animals they very often graduate to similar actions against people. He's not a kid, but I wonder where this guy's behavior is headed.

If the point is merely to know about the weight, why not just weight the whole plane? Actually, I would have assumed that modern airplanes can already measure their own weight. If it is really necessary to compute passenger weight, then it shouldn't be too hard to do that automatically without anyone noticing or explicitly stepping on a scale.

Well, you'd have to ask yourself whether you'd rather hear me play badly on a good piano or on a bad piano.
