I’m traveling back to DC in July. The cheapest rental car option is like $150/day for a tiny car. So I’m using Turo. It’s like Air B&B but for cars… getting one for $50/day.

This is part of why we drove to kiddo's place this year. We knew we'd need a rental multiple times for trips to the hospital ove 100 miles from here, 200+ miles round trip each time. Next week is trip number 5. You can't always count on a car being available unless you have a full schedule of appointments for weeks ahead. Changes are dicey. It's darn handy to have it for local errands, too.

Multiple hospital visits? Is everyone alright?

I just paid 475 for a Chevy Malibu for a 48 hour rental in SF

Granted that includes fuel pre-pay and a drop-off-elsewhere fee. But still.

I have a wedding to attend in Nantucket in October

The cheap car for 3 days cost about $500

So I figured, I'll take my own and save airfare too.

The ferry to get the car there from Hyannis is about $500 + fuel

                lose/lose
