@lufins-dad said in CDC recommendation to vax teenagers: 200 kids out of 21,000,000 Seems like you're using the wrong denominator. No way that 21,000,000 kids got covid.

He was scary good, right from the start. There was some concern that his mother was a bit of a stage mom - literally went with him all over the world long into his career.

If by the Grace of a benevolent God, we have GOP majorities in both chambers and a GOP president, they need to do a Teddy and bust some businesses.

FB has been ridiculous. But of course, feel free to create your own competitor and put them out of business...

Go walk around your garden with it. And consider the evaluation the software has to do to sort out the light, colors, size and viewing angle on the various leaves and flowers.

@doctor-phibes said in 5 fatalities that I can recall: My great grandfather worked on the railways in Manchester. He fell, leg got trapped, train ran over it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Barton_Pine On January 16, 1995, Pine was severely injured in a train accident in the suburb of Winnetka, where she taught violin lessons.[2][43][44][45][46] As she was exiting a Metra commuter train with her violin over her shoulder, the doors closed on the strap to her case, pinning her left shoulder to the train. The doors, which were controlled remotely and had no safety sensors, failed to reopen, and she was dragged 366 feet (112 meters) by the train before being pulled underneath and run over, severing one leg and mangling the other. Pine was saved by the prompt application of tourniquets by several passengers who disembarked from the train after pulling its emergency brake handles.[43] She sued Metra and the Chicago and North Western Transportation Company for compensation for her injuries and legal and medical expenses. Metra argued that she made the choice not to extricate her arm from the strap of the violin case due to the value of the instrument, a 400-year-old Amati valued at around $500,000, and thus she carried most of the blame for her injuries. The jury ruled in Pine's favor.[44] Metra changed its conductor safety procedures following the incident and made other changes to the trains themselves. Daniel Barenboim, the conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, organized a benefit concert and raised over $75,000 after she was injured.[43] After a two-year hiatus to allow for recovery from her injuries, aided by numerous surgeries and physical therapy, Pine resumed her career.[2]

At least Biden and the Dems supported the relief bill that led to you getting these checks, they have done something to justify them taking some credit. That's a lot better than GOP Representatives and Senators who all voted against the relief bill and then turned around to take credit for the benefits provided by the relief bill.

So glad the dems are finally figuring this out after relying on golden showers and our President is a Russian agent.

@axtremus said in Facebook Oversight Board’s Trump Ban Decision: https://about.fb.com/news/2021/06/facebook-response-to-oversight-board-recommendations-trump/ Facebook announced that it will keep Trump’s Facebook account suspended for two years (the clock started on Jan.7, 2021), and at the end of the two years Facebook will engage experts to assess whether the Trump threat against public safety has receded enough to warrant reinstatement. I hope they include diversity and inclusion experts in the committee who will decide this.

Just decide what you need (or want). Lots of components to choose from. I think you'll enjoy the build.

@lufins-dad said in Nothing worse than seeing your kid sick...: @george-k He started feeling better almost exactly 24 hours after symptoms set in. He is planning on reaching out to the College and asking if one shot combined with his prior case Glad to hear he's feeling better already. If he was under the weather for only a day or two, maybe he'll be fine for a second round. I'm curious what he will hear from the college.

@taiwan_girl said in Masks? Lockdowns? Did it Matter?: @jolly said in Masks? Lockdowns? Did it Matter?: Did it matter? For most people, no. I think more important factors were population density, testing availibility and access to medical care. I would add to that: compliance timing (in that I mean when things happened. I believe that NY was hit quite early (for whatever reason), so by the time any restrictions were in place, it was already too late). We're Americans. It is our God-given right not to comply.
