@bachophile Yeah, renal physiology is way, way beyond weird. All those gradients... I loved, and understood, neuroanatomy. I've forgotten almost all of it now, though I still have the vocabulary. Eyes? No way, no how. As an aside, giving anesthesia was one of my least favorite things. I actually saw a seasoned (20 years) OR nurse puke as the specimen was handed off. Antibiotics and immunology are my black holes as well.

Wow! So sad. Depression is such a sad disease. It can really affect people in ways that I cannot understand. There was a speaker I watched about suicide. And his point was that people dont want to die, they just want to change the way they are living. So, it becomes a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

@bachophile Yup. @Catseye3 Watch the movie "Free Solo". If you do not have wet palms through the movie, you are quite a strong person. Some of the stuff he would do to train is crazy - like hold on to the wood frame that frames a door (maybe one inch wide) for 90 minutes to strengthen his hands.

It is interesting that McDonalds does allow some variety of the menu for local tastes. When I was growing up, McDonalds was first becoming popular in Taiwan. The most popular menu items were fried chicken and corn soup!!

Keep the statues up. When the Taliban blew up the Buddhist statues in the Bamyan Valley in Afganistan, the same people who were AGAINST that are now FOR taking down the US statues. (Actually I dont that for a fact, but I am guessing that is the case. 555)
