The whole "defund police" thing makes me crazy. These folks see humanity at its worst - and we ask a lot of them. I can't imagine too many people being able to endure this woman.

I ask again, do you really think those ads would be frowned upon?

The two are different in nature. One is an employer wanting their employees to look/act a certain way. The other are individuals choosing the look/act a certain way.

A closer comparison might be something like this: https://www.hooters.com/hooters-girls/

The Thai variant is a bit more specific: https://www.hootersasia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/JD-OP04-Hooters-Girl-Waitress.pdf

What a story. How sad that it took all these years for him to finally get successful treatment.

I’ve always known I would rather die than go to a nursing home.

Good news/Bad news - You'll die either way.

Yeah, but it will be autonomously versus in an undead government funded facility.

The right answer is not "it was only 6 votes"

The right answer is more like "we have reason to believe the count is wrong"

And it's ok if we cheat because we are not old white men

@jolly Though as a "counterpoint", I was shown an article where there are a number of states that are looking to restrict or ban transgenders from competing in the opposite sex sports.

The article asked those states for specific examples within those states where there were transgender people competing on opposite sex sports that were a problem, and pretty much every state could not name an example within their state.

As the article say, "It is a solution in search of a problem"

(Just to be clear, I think that transgender people completing in opposite sex sports does give them an advantage)

Connecticut has already had a problem. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Athletically speaking...Back in the dim mists of high school, I was slower than an arthritic turtle. We're talking 5.8 40's. That's laughable. I was faster than a lot of girls and a heckuva lot stronger. For example, I have jacked a softball over a three hundred foot fence...I don't think there are any women in NCAA softball who could do that.

If you've seen his retirement notice on Instagram, it was given by his children, not him.

He'll be ok. The Saints owe him a few million in dead money and NBC has already offered him a multi-million dollar contract. Brees will probably start out doing Notre Dame (he is an old Purdue guy and knows a lot abiut the Midwest) and eventually take over for Collinsworth on Sunday Night Football.

Besides, he's building a new house in Hawaii and he has his homes in New Orleans and San Diego.

Personally, I think he should keep residency in New Orleans, for at least a good part of the year. Cassidy will be in the Senate for five more years. Brees is a moderate Republican and would be tailor-made for this state.

Brees could win in a walk.

once he ran for President he appeared to be become a bit of a turd without any real core beliefs of his own.

Yeah, I've always felt that with Romney, there's no there there.

A couple of fairly obvious things...
Wherever you may want to install the heater, bear in mind hot air rises.
For efficiency, the thermostat should be placed close to the liquids stored.

I’m also considering Atlantis, but the ancillary activities seem like they will be very expensive (snubs, etc...). So I am thinking instead of renting one of the Condos in the Harborside, and actually going to the Nassau City Pier for the Snorkeling trips...

If there is a threat make it known or send them home. Ridiculous.

This is what you get when you storm the Capitol and people die. Blame the insurrectionists for this shit sandwich.

This is what you get when you tell people that a few doofusses taking selfies is an insurrection.

I've been watching it again with the VR goggles.

Details? That sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.

I just bought some Oculus Quest 2 Goggles, primarily so I could play some of the VR games on the PC, but while I wait for the connection cable to arrive (it's a long story involving UPS) I've been using them to watch stuff on Amazon - essentially, the Amazon app simulates a big cinema screen.

The technology isn't all the way there yet, but the Amazon app works pretty well, if you don't mind wearing the goggles. For $300, the technology has impressed me a lot. I suspect that in about 10 years it will be amazing.

The goggles aren't the most comfortable things in the world, but they're fine for an hour or so at a time, and some of the VR videos are also quite impressive.

Reading more closely the death penalty is under appeal. It’s the defense counsel’s duty to represent him as best he/she can. If the suit is heard it will be interesting to hear the court’s legal response.
