There is nothing wrong with considering the idea. We almost certainly should not do it, but an additional option is never bad.

I just saw a story that the 29th Democrat is not seeking re-election this year. But, how many of those seats are safely Democrat, regardless of who runs? If my congresscritter, Jesus Garcia, didn't run, I have no fantasy that he would be replaced by a GOP candidate.
