    So, Mrs. George is out of the house, so it's just me, the three cats and Sidney.

    I always take these opportunities to crank up the stereo.

    I'm listening to Gary Bertini's recording of the Mahler #1.

    Somehow, it doesn't move me. Tempos seem uneven, and some of the orchestral parts, esp in the 1st movement sound a bit sloppy.

    The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

            I for one can't wait until the Kazoo version of Mahler #1 is released. Yes, this is a thing.

              Kubilek, Fischer and Bernstein would be three I'd try out for Mahler 1 - though I've not done a playoff - sorry!
