One of my partners was kind of an asshole. He was always throwing his weight around, and would do shit just to piss people off. For example, one day a surgeon had an urgent case to do in the early evening. He delayed and delayed, for no good reason. The surgery was going to proceed regardless of delays, so why not get it out of the way.

But...I digress.

One time, there was a rather (cough) large patient who presented for surgery. Well, this guy wanted to know how much she weighed, and unfortunately, at that time, the scales in patients' rooms only (cough "only") went up to 300 lb.

So, he wrote an order, "Take patient to loading dock to have her weighed."

@George-K , @Jolly , it looks like you think Medicare reimbursement rates are too low. What public policy changes do you think is needed to address the Medicare reimbursement rate issue? Just raise the reimbursement rates? Also raise Medicare taxes to pay for the higher reimbursement rates?

TBH, I was never a big fan of Tyson, but I didn't think his Tweets were particularly egregious.

I don't think it's really all that awful, either, I just think it's a dick thing to do.

For the most part, it's not hard to do the physical work. The limitations of design for a shed house can be hard.

Research into vaccines for the corona type viruses has been going on for more than a decade. I have a friend who is a post-doc at USC in California and they have lab there that has been working on this for more than 10 years.

What President Trump did (and should rightly deserve credit for it) was to remove "roadblocks" that delay the research and bringing a product such as this to market.

Without his stepping in, I still think we would have had vaccines, but they would have been a while in the future.
