Interesting how some music people write many more songs than they use on "albums" and others only write what they release.
As you say, not unusual, at all.
If you look at Lennon - McCartney's early stuff, there's a lot of songs that he "gave away" to other performers.
"From a Window"
"Nobody I Know."
"World Without Love"
"Bad to Me"
"Woman"
"I Don't Want to See You Again."
Also, all of these hits were recorded by only two groups: Peter & Gordon, and Billy J. Kramer."
