The professor only mentioned the 2 genders. Mr. Trump has set us free.

Well, I take my shoes off on a plane, but I do bring slippers to wear. I dont understand how people can take their shoes off, wear no slippers and then walk around, especially to the toilet. :eek

@Doctor-Phibes said in Things that make you think about life...: @Jolly said in Things that make you think about life...: Signed my first papers at 52. I still work PRN. I'd still happily work p/t if I retired, just not at what I do now. A comment...After I retired the first time, my wife threatened to bury me in the back yard. Not because I was doing nothing, it was because I had too much going on around the house and I started early. So, I went back to work full-time, but in a totally different career field. It was hard, but it was fun. And it stretched the brain, along with meeting a lot of new people. Sadly, some health issues got in the way and I had to quit. I got antsy and went back to healthcare working PRN. I've enjoyed that, but I'm getting c!oser to hanging it up. I certainly would have stayed in the other career field if I could. So if you can retire and you're able to do something else, do it. I think you'll find it rejuvenating.

No, difference in opinions. Elon is talking about secured money. I figure the Trump figure takes a more optimistic figure based on total investment over time and with government help.

@Horace said in When you lose the WSJ: I would have preferred that the J6 pardons were more discriminate. The only discrimination involved was between commutation and pardon. I was expecting some people to stay in jail. Agreed. There's a relatively clear line between leading the charge, assaulting officers, breaking and entering, stealing, and conspiracy to stop the election.... and those who were there for the protest and followed the mob through already-opened doors...aka trespassing or unauthorized entry. The latter shouldn't have been charged in the first place, and pardons would make sense there. But not for the clear criminals.

Absent having been caught in a fire, or attacked by an monkey, all that stuff seems so silly. That said, it was nice to see price transparency in a (sort of) medical setting. I'd hate to have a 'Brazilian Butt-lift' just to find out I could have saved.

@89th said in Minnesota Dems won't show up: the whiny cheeseheads who tried blocking stuff in Madison, WI Yup, they ran off to Illinois to avoid being dragged back across the cheddar curtain. Fleebaggers, remember?

Having won Having lost the hearts and minds of the Syrian locals: “The Russians based nearby often raided our neighborhood,” he says. “We were terrified of them, especially the Chechen fighters. We avoided interacting with them, but it wasn’t a peaceful relationship. They were monstrous. They would often come to our market and just take whatever they wanted. But what could we do?” Abu Salmun, an elderly man standing nearby whose face is scarred by an explosion during the siege, interrupts Latif. “Under the 2018 agreement, Assad’s forces couldn’t enter Ghouta. So it was the Russians who handled security,” he explains. “Assad had the Iranians behind him, and the Iranians had the Russians behind them. In the end, it was the Russians who called all the shots.” https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2025/01/22/they-destroyed-everything-with-russia-gone-syrians-begin-a-long-painful-process-of-rebuilding-a87684

@89th said in Manchester, the 51st State....?: Ok @George-K guess we are at 2 out of 30,573. Trump is on his way! I loved the ending of the article. In short, that it happened first in 1919, and also a milestone in 1932, "none of which happened in the US", lol. I failed a physics exam in the Rutherford building, so have a real connection to this momentous event.
