You're right. I WANTED to go, but I was booked for Quebec City the week before (for Lakme at a local opera house,) so that was an issue, and then my DAUGHTER (who I would have brought, and at Juilliard no less) was a STINKER from hell about having something to play. (FYI I suck at the piano personally.)
BUT if I knew, if I KNEW that KathyK would be there I would have make it work out. I would have begged, and cringed and cowed and whimpered just to kiss her hand. And then my life would be complete. Now, now, I am to condemned to walk the earth: as a shadow.

Did you notice anyone with more than 5 fingers on one hand during the party? Especially when playing Chopin’s 4th ballade extra fingers could come in handy. Did you check KathyK’s son?

Boy-nyc sure is a talented young man. We spent a few minutes down in his music cave with a set of electronic drums, electric and acoustic guitars, a keyboard and he plays them all and does so very well given the amount of time he has spent learning how to play them.
Two months on the drums and he is good enough to play in a band. That's impressive to say the least.
