@89th said in J.D. Speaks: but still we cannot be the world's police forever. Agree, but I think that forever is a long long time. I think that the US still has a role to play like this for the semi long term. It will only help us also. Pulling back from what has worked for 100+ years is not a good idea at this piont.

Thanks for sharing the article. I agree with alot of what was said. The last election was not so much a vote "for" a candidate, but more a vote "against" the other candidate. The democrat just did not realize how bad a candidate(s) they had and how alot of their message (especially on some of the social issues that got the most news) was out of touch with a large section of the middle voters.

That was in the article. It's learned helplessness... trying to solve problems they have no control over. There is a reason, whatever it is, that conservative young women are consistently 2-3x happier than liberal young women. Might just be how the brain is wired.

As they said on SNL... Trump can't wait to release the Epstein files, for everyone with the last name A through S! Very thorough!

@Horace said in Some of y'all are in good company. 🤮: All sides are equal, and that is why Horace can take no side. For, any side Horace takes, immediately becomes superior. LOL not all heroes...

By the way, this is the same guy that bought that $6MM “art work” that was a banana taped to a canvas. He ate the banana after the auction closed.

@Horace said in Religious Decline: I have mentioned several times here that the wave of conservatism among young males has carried with it some respect for religion, or at least a diminishment of the disrespect for it that characterized prior generations. I think you're right. I hope the females finally get their heads right. It shocks me how many young women are on psychotropic drugs.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Highlights: @Copper said in Highlights: @Doctor-Phibes said in Highlights: connecting him to at least a semblance of reality I hope that is what he is trying to do. This topic is the reason Mr. Trump was elected 8 years ago. This is why he was elected again. No, it's really not. The debt and government overspend bizarrely don't seem to be things that worry people nearly as much as they ought to. And Trump didn't help in the slightest in his first term. Covid notwithstanding, tax cuts and handouts didn't reduce the debt. COVID. I think until COVID, we had turned a corner. Real wages were up, disposable income was up, tax collections were up. Then it all got knocked ass-end over teakettle...

Because it's not what she does, it's who she is. Healthcare is not a job, it is a calling, at least for the ones who do it right. And it is a calling in which the end result is always failure.
